$1.5 million sent in error to money manager (both are missing)

In the board game Monopoly, when the bank makes an error in your favor, the player gets to keep the money. A hedge fund manager is acting as if he has drawn that lucky card for real, a lawsuit against him contends.
Credit Suisse says it wired a total of $1.5 million in three transactions to the hedge fund’s bank account on one day in January. Two weeks later, according to it's lawsuit, the bank realized it had made a mistake: At the time of the wire transfers, the hedge fund, Galbraith Capital Investment Management, was winding down operations and it had no cash left in its account with Credit Suisse.
The bank asked for its money back.
It is still waiting.

Keshi: Fans React

With Stephen Keshi in line to return as Super Eagles coach, fans have shared their views on this latest development.
Below are views of some football fans from different parts of Nigeria:
Nwankwe Tarilaye,TM Bayelsa United from Yenegoa-
Keshi should not return. What kind of working relationship will he have with a board that pushed him out?
Bakare from Offa- Kwara State: Sacking him isn’t the solution at first but if he would be back, the Boss must learn from criticisms of all Nigerians.
Shuaibu Haliru from Sokoto: Keshi shouldn’t be brought back, he uses a lot of self interest in his squad. We have good talented players out there, players like Obasi, Uche, Abdullahi Shehu, Sherif Isa but they never get called up.
fans-KESHI
Ojobi: Keshi won’t help Nigerian football because of his arrogant stand on locking out some very good players.
Chikere Nwankwo: It’s laughable and a shame if Keshi agrees to go back to his vomit. What about the many countries he claimed were after his signature? The President by this action has slighted the Pinnick board. What it means is that nobody can talk to Keshi again. We’re in for poor results from the Eagles

Jonathan Finally picks up nomination form for 2015 elections.

 Goodluck Jonathan

The National Organising Secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha on Thursday handed over the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms to President Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election.
Also, PDP extended automatic tickets or the right of first refusal to its governors eligible for a second term in office and had performed creditably. Those seeking second terms during the 2015 elections are the governors of Gombe and Kaduna States.
Accepting the forms, Jonathan said he would have still picked the forms had he not been given an automatic ticket by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

Apple Inc. Chief- Tim Cook says he's gay....

Timothy .D. Cook, Apple’s chief executive, said he was “proud to be gay” in an essay published early Thursday, becoming by far the most prominent executive of a public company to come out.
“Let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,” Mr. Cook wrote in the essay, published by Bloomberg Businessweek.
Mr. Cook, 53, has never spoken publicly about his sexual orientation in the many years he has worked in the spotlight at Apple.
In his essay, Mr. Cook also noted that he had spent much of his life trying to keep his personal matters private, which is why he had not previously spoken in public about his sexual orientation.
“Apple is already one of the most closely watched companies in the world,” he wrote, “and I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.”
Tim Cook.

With his essay, Mr. Cook becomes the most prominent gay man in the corporate world, joining a very short list of openly gay executives at public companies. He also defies corporate sexual identity norms ; 83 percent of gay, lesbian and bisexual people hide aspects of their identity at work, according to a Deloitte report
Silicon Valley, and technology companies in particular, have taken largely progressive stances on gay rights and advancement in the workplace. Companies like Google, Facebook and Apple participate regularly in San Francisco’s annual gay pride parade. And many of these companies, including Twitter, Intel and Apple, offer more inclusive health benefits packages to gay employees and their partners.

IS gunmen line up and kill 30 men

Islamic State militants have lined up 30 Sunni men in a town west of Baghdad and shot them dead, according to officials.
The killings took place on a main street in the town of Hit.
Anbar provincial council chairman Sabah Karhout said the Sunnis were tribal fighters allied with the government and members of the security forces, and were captured when IS overran the town, 85 miles west of the Iraqi capital.
Hit fell to IS in early October after fierce clashes with government forces backed by Sunni fighters from the Albu Nimir tribe.
IS has seized large areas of land in western and northern Iraq in the country's worst crisis since the 2011 US troop withdrawal.
Residents said the 30 men were paraded through the city as militants shouted through loudspeakers that they were apostates who fought against them.
In Iraq and areas in eastern Syria, the IS militants have declared a self-styled caliphate and imposed their own harsh interpretation of shariah law. They also have targeted the country's religious minorities, including Christians and others, killing hundreds and forcing hundreds of thousands to leave their homes.

Etisalat hits 20 million Subscriber Base, Records 18% Growth

Etisalat Nigeria has said its subscriber number has been  growing at  18 per cent since January 2014,  while  its active subscriber base has hit  20 million.

Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher, who dropped the hint in Lagos, described the growth rate as a significant milestone, attributable to the dedication of staff at the company and the responsiveness of Nigerians to Etisalat’s innovative products.
“I must emphasise that the remarkable growth we have recorded is a direct result of two factors - the commitment of our staff, who serve as a vital link in the chain which drives our operations, and the loyalty and warmth of our millions of subscribers. We can only respond to them by constantly improving our products and service delivery,” Willsher said.

In just six years of operations, Etisalat has become a major industry player despite the highly competitive nature of the Nigerian telecoms market. The company has introduced a wide variety of innovative and unparalleled products and services such as the first-of-its-kind educational tool in the youth market, Cliqlite; the first loyalty proposition in the Nigerian telecommunication industry, Etisalat GEM and the new state of the art Gold Series and Flagship Experience Centres.

The company also has a reputation for customer service and is said to be the only telecoms operator in Nigeria that continually exceeds all the quality benchmarks set by the industry regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
